Still Lives (Giorgio Morandi)

These still lives are the three dimensional incarnation of etchings by the Italian artist Giorgio Morandi. Each still life is accompanied by a bronze sketch book in which I used the revived art of gelatin photogravure with the master printer Deli Saciloto. This is a process that was used by the roto-gravure sections if newspapers in the 1930s and then eventually disappeared. Morandi is an artist I much admire and I have revisited his work as inspiration for the sculpture“l’Infinito” and an edition of prints “Morandi”.
