René Magritte was a Belgian surrealist artist born in 1899, who had a very droll but marvelous sense of humor. Things were always out of context in his work as in his painting “This is not a pipe”. Of course, it is not a pipe, it is a painting of a pipe. The compilation of images that I used to tell the artist’s story are taken from the afore mentioned “This is not a pipe”, “Man in a bowler hat”, “The red model”, “The land of miracles”, and a 1965 photo by Duane Michaels.
