Bench Piece

This sculpture is about a down and out guy having a snooze on a New York City park bench. I was able to obtain a stereotype mat from the front and rear pages of the New York Daily News. These mats were made of paper maché and used to cast the lead type to print the newspaper. It was in this way that I was able to cast a low relief version in bronze where you are able to read the text in perfect detail.
